A name from a distant land He came shrouded in mystery and mischief And took me by the hand So gentle a lover, I never could have guessed A man so loud and harsh at times In his love I have been blessed He shared with me his history, And made me feel a part Then gently he lifted me, and cradled me in his heart He weaved our souls together, with twine made golden by our love And eased my heart long broken with the gentleness of a dove Different we may be but also much the same and all of love's secrets are revealed when he softly says my name my friend, my lover, my soulmate we have stood the test of time together we will always be Poetry whispered in rhyme © copyright |
