Very well put! We need people like you that are willing to be “unpopular” with the present state of Conservatism, and speak their mind about the issues.
And, while I don’t completely agree with you about Terri Schiavo, I do agree that it’s not the Bushs’ fault, the judges fault, or Terri’s fault. Blame doesn’t rest on Michael Schiavo or on the Schindlers. Fault, if any, belongs to every living, breathing person in this country. Maybe more so to those that are going around today pointing fingers, as they are the ones that have waited this long to make their voices heard.
My conclusions, exactly. Right now it looks as though many of my regular readers will abandon me because of my own stance. Just as left-wing fanatics tried to use 9/11 for their own purposes, the ones on the right are doing the same with this issue.
No matter what you believe, feel or say, there will always be people who will tear you down. Sometimes, people from all sides of a discussion will jump on your back. So many people have no tolerance and then they complain that other people have no tolerance.
What they really mean is the “other people” don’t believe exactly what they believe today .
They say they love this country because of its freedom, yet they seem not to care about freedom for others.
I post stories and sometimes get attacked from all sides.
Keep up the good writing work. You will reach open minds and we can only hope that the closed minds will eventually awaken.
I appreciate the support you guys, and Mike I definitely hope that isn’t true about you losing readers; If it does happen it only goes to show how self serving their position is.

A drop of sanity in a sea of hate.

I wish that I had your eloquence. These were my feelings also, but put in a way that I never could have.
