What does this idiot think he is doing?
A Republican lawmaker in Maine has introduced a bill to prohibit abortions based on the sexual orientation of the unborn baby.
State Rep. Brian Duprey wants the Legislature to forbid a woman from ending a pregnancy because the fetus is homosexual.
He said the bill looks into the future in case scientists find what he described as a “homosexual gene.”
He is making a mockery out of not only one but two extremely sensitive issues. I agree with his detractors when they say that he has no serious interest in protecting homosexuals nor in having a serious discussion or debate about abortion. We need serious debate not stupidity.
Far to many of our Politicians play games with public trust and we need to start weeding the bad ones out no matter what side of the political spectrum they fall in.

It’s taken 4 1/2 months but finally a Judge dismisses all charges against the Christian demonstrators arrested early October for preaching God’s word at a homosexual rally in Philadelphia citing lack of evidence of wrong doing.
“We are one of the very few countries that protects unpopular speech,” Dembe said after viewing a videotape of the arrests. “And that means that Nazis can March in Skokie, Ill. … That means that the Ku Klux Klan can march where they wish to. We cannot stifle speech because we don’t want to hear it, or we don’t want to hear it now.”
The Philly Police and the District Attorney have a lot to answer for in regards to this case and their blatant abuse of power.
I first blogged about this story here follow the link and you can see the same tape that the Judge watched and decide for yourself.
In other news:
The very first news/ current affairs/political post I did back when I was blogging on Brave Journal was about what a sad and pathetic little man I believe comedian Bill Maher to be. It’s been almost a year and my views have not changed, then again neither has Bill. He is still a sad and pathetic little man.

Let me see if I get this right, Californians lead the country in driving fuel efficient not to mention as a result higher priced cars and so to reward their “enviormental awareness and responsible behavior” the California Government wants to tax people for every mile they drive?
Well that’s just brilliant!

I’m anti UN, I don’t try to hide it and there is no doubt that I’ve had my pigtails pulled more than once by our lefty readers whenever I dare post an anti UN rant.
But here’s one maybe even they can get behind.
There is a new study out in The Lancet Journal regarding alcohol use. The study is based primarily on information deemed from “The world health report 2002 - Reducing Risks, Promoting Healthy Life”
What’s it all mean? Well according to Steve Milloy writing for Fox News:
“Overall, four percent of the global burden of disease is attributable to alcohol, 4.1 percent to tobacco and 4.4 percent to high blood pressure. Alcohol is causally related to more than 60 different medical conditions, including breast cancer and coronary heart disease. In most cases, alcohol has a detrimental effect on health,” claims the release.
The study authors, from Sweden, Canada and the U.S., claim there’s a “growing contrast between the treatment of alcohol in trade agreements and disputes as an ordinary commodity and the more restrictive treatments of such other commodities as tobacco and pharmaceuticals, which also entail public health risks.”
They end their study with a call for a “new international treaty on alcohol control, along the lines of the [United Nations’] Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.”
Anything done in excess can be a danger to your health, we all know this. But does that mean we need the UN stepping in with another scare campaign?

Maybe it’s just me but it seems that President Hamid Karzai doesn’t get the respect he deserves from the international press. He has proven himself worthy of maintaining a permanent place on the pages of the world’s newspapers yet we rarely hear about him or the groundbreaking work he is accomplishing.
President Hamid Karzai is preparing to appoint Afghanistan’s first female provincial governor, his spokesman said yesterday, in another step towards reviving women’s rights trampled by the former hardline Taliban government.
An all-female shortlist including the former women’s minister Habiba Sarobi has been drawn up for the governorship of central Bamiyan province, presidential spokesman Jawed Ludin said, though no decision has been taken.
“One of those ladies will be the governor of Bamiyan,” Mr Ludin said at a news conference. “If a woman is able to do the job, the law says we can appoint her.”
Ms Sarobi said she had discussed the position with Mr Karzai after rejecting his suggestion that she become an Afghan ambassador abroad.
“I want to be inside the country at the service of my people,” she said.
too right! It’s hard to believe that just a few short years ago in Afghanistan a woman could be beaten for making noise when she walked.

A new poem by Russ Vaughn (also added to the compilation page)
Words recently read have just so made my day,
Some whimsical wisdom from sage Austin Bay,
Who points out profoundly and slick as you please,
The Democrat Party has Mad How Disease.
The infection most certainly is iatrogenic,
From too many visits to Dr. Dean’s clinic.
They should have been warned that they should be wary
Of getting too chummy with the Left’s Typhoid Mary.
With such manifest symptoms, diagnosis is simple,
That boil on their butt is now more than a pimple.
Diagnosing the pathogen’s really no chore:
Yellow streak down the back, an aversion to war.
Beginning mid-body there’s a leftward progression,
Higher levels of bile and mounting aggression.
Some victims of Mad How go totally postal,
Especially those diagnosed as being bi-coastal.
A most telling trait is a Roquefort stench
And delirious devotion to anything French.
Older victims on campus seem sallow and pale
With that sure sign of Mad How, a grey pony-tail.
Repetitive chanting, waving x-rated banners,
Are significant symptoms, as are infantile manners.
Shouts of “Vietnam!” and “Quagmire!” as foul epithets,
Could lead one to conclude this a form of Tourettes.
So what’s the prognosis for the Party’s infection?
That depends what is in the mad doctor’s injection.
If it’s more toxic serums of weakness and fear,
The fate of the victims is fatally clear.
Despairingly cynical, brimming with hate,
They’re likely to share the other dodo bird’s fate,
An ignoble end to their political journey,
A sheet over the face and Rove pushing the gurney.
