This is for my fellow conservatives that have gone a bit crazy over the past few days.

I am in horrified shock at the things I am seeing on the news tonight.

Terry Randall
is spouting off about how there will be “hell to pay” for those who voted against Terri’s Law.

There was a bomb threat at the district court in Florida,

An ugly memo which may or may not have been written by the Republicans is making the rounds.

Children are being placed in situations where they will be arrested intentionally.

John Gibson of Fox News is suggesting that Gov. Bush should storm the hospital and kidnap Terri Schaivo.

Our elected representatives are receiving death threats.

and all the while Terri lay dying.

I fail to see how this fanatical behavior is in any way helping this tragic situation.

In case you have forgotten we are a nation of laws .. OUR laws. If we don’t like them then we should lobby to change them. It was our fault that our Judiciary got to this point. We allowed it to happen and now we expect everything to change immediately because something has come along that we feel passionate about.

For those of you who are slamming either President Bush or Governor Bush for not doing more, shame on you. They have worked tirelessly trying to save this woman. They may both pay a heavy political price for what they have done and yet knowing this they still took the position that they felt was morally right.

I am ashamed of how quickly those I thought I related too have willingly turned themselves over to anger and hatred. We are so quick to judge those who disagree but we do not know their heart and we should not assume that we do.

The Senators that voted against the bill to save Terri are not murderers, they are just people who see things differently than you or I. Would you still be calling them murderers if Terri had left a living will?

I don’t think you would, I doubt that you would give it much thought at all and yet she would still be dying just like the countless others who are removed from life support or feeding tubes in this country everyday. Who rallies for them, where are their prayer vigils?

When she is dead how many of you will still work so hard to change our laws and how many will just move on to the next thing that you can bitch and moan about?

This is not the time for all this anger and hatred; it is selfish and serves no one especially not Terri or her family.

This is a time for prayer and faith. It is a time to be humble before God because we can not know what this is all meant to show us and if we allow ourselves to be overwhelmed by the loudness of manic hatred we risk never hearing God at all.

Please don’t get me wrong. Like you I believe that Terri’s case has been handled badly, I believe that there is enough doubt as to her condition and in regards to her wishes, that there should have been a review of all of the evidence. I also believe that this is so painful for her family that her husband should have in the name of compassion relinquished guardianship to her parents.

Like you I am angry, I believe that the courts have failed in this case. I want judicial reform and I want my country to stand on the side of life if there is any doubt at all to the wishes of the individual.

Like you I want Terri Schiavo to live, to receive proper care and to shock us by making a full recovery, and like you I hurt because this does not look like it will be the case.

Also like you all I can do is pray, pray for Terri, pray for her family and pray for us all in this time of uncertainty and sadness.

I will not allow this to make me hate, I don’t know Terri personally but I doubt she’d want that of any of us.
