Confusing moments
In tangled sheets
Your glistening body
Your hair still damp on my stomach
As I watch you drift to sleep
Tasting the blood
On my tender bruised lip
A shiver comes
I wonder if the time will come
When consumed by your passion
I’ll cease to exist
Your face so peaceful now
But I think back to how it was
Just a short lifetime ago
Tears filled your eyes
When you said my name
Obsession isn’t a dirty word
You promised
Just a higher state of love
As I peeled your fingers from my wrist
You sank to your knees
Breaking my heart
All I wanted was to comfort you
Running my fingers thru your hair
There is nothing to be afraid of
I will not leave
How would I breathe?
If not surrounded by the scent of you

I need your strength
I need your sadness
I need your laughter
I need your madness
I need your praise
I need your scorn
I need to feel
In you reborn
I need the sting
Left by your open hand
Leaving its mark
Like an iron brand
Pushing me down on bended knees
Turning away from my pitiful pleas
